Cataclysmic Megashear Ranch

1. MORE PEOPLES. we still are looking for some more folks. i think two spaces downstairs and several shared spaces upstairs, the space formerly known as t-girl’s upstairs[rented], plus one of the front upstairs rooms.

2. EVENTS AND SUCH. things are happening, like the wednesday get crafty series, friday’s piefest, lovetech on saturday. paba is working on an online calendar thingie. we should all do things, collaboratively and individually. DIY + consensus seems to be what we talked about. we all have a lot of autonomy to create our own events/projects, but we should run our stuff by the gang to make sure it’s not going to seriously interfere with another ranchling’s experience.

i have been thinking about hosting classes at the ranch, stuff that i personally would like to learn or collaborate on. some ideas i have:

– intro to blinkies
– encaustic techniques
– soap making

3. OPEN STUDIOS. mauricia’s agreed to be the point person for information. she’s already sent us the info about the deadlines. this does not mean that mauricia is coordinating the ranch’s open studios. it’s up to whoever wants to participate to team together and make it happen. she’ll just be passing along information to us.

4. OPEN PROJECTS

– foyer beautification (dream)
– lighting in the big room
– ironing out the wireless (paba)
– smoothing out the uneven floor in the foyer (rocky?)
– addressing the kitchen stairs
– fixing the hot tub (foo)

5. THINGS ARE MISSING/WISH LIST. seriously. no phone, no barbecue tools, no pots and pans. where’d they go? see below for wish list. if you’ve borrowed something, how about bringing it back?

– more couches
– analog phone
– barbecue tools
– pots and pans

6. HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE RANCH:

– REGULAR WORK HANGOUTS- {second Sunday}  we talked about having a monthly ranch day where we do stuff to make the place cleaner, prettier, weirder, better. no actual schedule for this, unless i missed something?

– CONTRIBUTE $$ to some projects. the hot tub and concrete (foyer leveling) projects need some dough.

– HANG WORK in the common areas, yo.

– DO YOUR DISHES. thankyouverymuch.
